The long awaited launch of Talaris’s new 2.5 pocket sorter finally came on the 26th October in Johannesburg, South Africa. The new Nsignia™ banknote sorting solution was unveiled in front of a select group of African partners and customers in the impressive setting of Montecasino.
With representatives from Zambia, Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Kenya and South Africa present, the Nsignia had some great expectations to live up to and the Talaris team were kept busy demonstrating the new machines features and benefits. Each country came with their own set of sorting requirements and first impressions would suggest that the Nsignia will combat many smaller scale sorting problems encountered by banks, retailers, CIT, cash centres and gaming establishments across Africa.
On Day 2 of the event Talaris along with partner GPT invited South African customers to exclusive introductory sessions. Customers attended from the banking, gaming and CIT sectors and we welcomed two customers from banks in Malawi.
The launch event was a great success and strong interest in the machine was demonstrated when order numbers hit 170 units just 7 days after the launch. Showing their commitment to support the new product, Office Machine Ltd, Zambia placed the first order for 80 machines and on-site testing has begun. Dismas Matunda, Executive Director of Office Machine said: “We have been waiting for a compact sorter solution and the Nsignia has the ability to address our customer’s needs.”
